LOCALITIES IN STATES LIKE UNIVERSITIES THAT HAVE A FACE TO PERMIT.THAT IS GENERAL AND ITS REQUIREMENT. THE PHASE 1 PERMIT IS MORE CHALLENGING TO SUCCESSFULLY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN SOMETHING LIKE WE WERE IN THE SESSION EARLIER SEWER. MAINTAINING A PERMIT LIKE THIS IS KEY TO THE CONTINUED OF THE COUNTY BECAUSE OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY AND EVEN MORE STRINGENT REQUIREMENTS.

I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A MOMENT TO DRAW ATTENTION TO OVER 300 COMPANIES WHO HELP FORMED THE FOUNDATION OF OUR LOCAL ECONOMY. THIS IS AN IDEA THAT CAME FROM MISTER ROMANOW A NUMBER OF YEARS AGO. THIS IS A WAY THAT OUR COUNTY TO SAY THANK YOU AND PUBLIC HE RECOGNIZED BUSINESSES WHO HAVE CHOSEN TO REMAIN IN OVER 25 YEARS OR MORE. THEY ARE REFERRED TO AS LEGACY BUILDS BUSINESSES.
AND SAMUEL SEE CERTIFICATES THAT ARE ON THE WALL. THIS YEAR OUR 2,021 LEGACY PROGRAM WILL RECOGNIZE NEARLY 30 COMPANIES THAT HAVE REMAINED IN THE COUNTY FOR OVER HALF A CENTURY AND HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WHO HAVE SPENT DECADES HERE. OBVIOUSLY WITH CORONAVIRUS WE HAVE LEARNED MANY LESSONS BUT ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THAT THESE BUSINESSES ARE KEY TO HELPING US WEATHER THE STORMS. WE WANT TO RECOGNIZE THESE LEGACY COMPANIES FOR PERSEVERING NOT JUST FOR THE YEARS BUT ALSO FOR MANY ECONOMIC CYCLES AND A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. WITHOUT FURTHER ADO EBONY ATKINS BUSINESS MANAGER WITH THE EDA SHARE MORE ABOUT THIS LEGACY PROGRAM 2,021.

THE SPRING WE SET OUT TO PLAN THIS YEAR'S LEGACY PROGRAM IN LARGE IN-PERSON EVENTS WHERE THEY ARE RESTRICTED. AS AN OUTWARD DIGRESSION FOR BUSINESSES THAT RICK RETAINED IN THE COUNTRY COUNTY WE HAVE A VIDEO THAT HIGHLIGHTS THEM IN THEIR PERSEVERANCE IN THE COUNTY FOR MANY DECADES. AND MANY MORE TO COME.
SINCE THEN THE RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN LIFTED AND WE ARE ABLE TO HONOR THEM AND A MORE FORMAL SETTING. THIS THURSDAY WE WILL HOST OUR LEGACY EVENT TO CELEBRATE NEARLY 30 BUSINESSES THAT HAVE BEEN IN THE EN IN THE COUNTY FOR 50 OR MORE 30 BUSINESSES THAT HAVE BEEN IN THE COUNTY FOR 50 OR MORE YEARS. WE ALSO GIVE LEGACY COMPANIES A CERTIFICATE. MANY OF THEM TO THEN CHOOSE THE DISPLAY THAT ON THE HE WALLS AS YOU WILL SEE IN THE FOLLOWING VIDEO THESE BUSINESS OWNERS RS FILLED IN THE CONSCIOUS DECISION THAT THEY OR EVEN THEIR PARENTS MADE TO THEIR PARENTS MADE TO SUSTAIN.

I'M SURE THE FAMIIES OF THE DECEASED AND THOSE THAT ARE CONNECTED TO THE DECEASED THERE APPRECIATED. THIS PAST SATURDAY WE HAD OUR FIRST JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION AT DORY PARK. I WANT TO PUBLICLY THINK AND COMMAND THE DIVISION OF RECREATION PARKS FOR HOSTING. AROUND JUNETEENTH LAST YEAR THE GOVERNOR MADE IT A STATE HOLIDAY. WE ASKED THE COUNTY MEMBER IF WE COULD DO SOMETHING FOR JUNETEENTH AND IN THE COUNTY. LITTLE DID I KNOW THAT WE WOULD BE ABLE TO HOST THAT AN ESTIMATE WITH 11,000 PEOPLE ATTENDING FOR THIS INAUGURAL CELEBRATION. THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING OF PERFORMANCES, VENDORS, GAMES FOR CHILDREN, FOOD AND AN INCREDIBLE FIREWORK DISPLAYED IN THE EVENING.
JUNETEENTH AS YOU HAVE HEARD OVER THE PAST WEEK OR SO IS AN EXTERNALLY SIGNIFICANT DAY FOR AFRICAN-AMERICAN THROUGH WHAT WE ARE ABLE TO DO ON A SATURDAY WE RECOGNIZE THE SIGNIFICANCE OF IT IN AN EXEMPLARY FASHION. THE ESTIMATE OF COST OF THE PROJECT IS $24 MILLION AND THE PRODUCT FEDERAL SHARE NOT EXCEED 80% OF THE TOTAL PROJECT ESTIMATE. THE COUNTY INTENDS TO REQUEST GRANT FUNDS UP TO $19 MILLION AND MUST SUBMIT A LETTER OF INTENT AND PROVIDE A COMMITMENT TO THE LOCAL MATCH TO BEING ABLE FOR FUNDING.
